My greatest desire for my blog is that it be an enjoyable place to visit. I want all things to come together, the pictures, text, music and bits of whimsy to be pleasing to my visitors.
One of these elements is called the Glitter Effect Mouse Pointer or Fairy Dust. Over time I have been asked how I added this to my blog. It has been there quite a while and I direct to a post created by another. That post is no longer available. So, I decided to create one for future reference. I have created a ‘test blog’ to demonstrate this and perhaps other things in the future.
Step 2: From your Blogger Dashboard choose the “Template” option for your blog. Select the “Edit HTML” option. You will be given a screen suggesting you use the CSS option on the Template Designer. Select Proceed.
Step 3: You are now on the screen where you see the HTML view of your blog’s template. On the top left of the screen you’ll see a box next to “Expand Widget Template” Click the box.
Step 4: The Code: Copy this code in its entirety-it is very long. This will be placed in the blog’s HTML code between the(highlighted in the image below) portions of your blog’s template.
Step 5: Applying the Code. The firstshould be near the top. Scroll down until you find the second they will be almost flush to the left and alone. Apply your cursor and create a space before the. Now, “Paste” the code above the second code. (see images below for how thecodes look in my blog.)
locate the first code near the top of the blog’s template
scroll down to find second code. I found mine 1/4 to 1/3 down the blog’s template
code applied above second code
Preview your changes. Allow the blog to fully open then move your cursor around. You should now see cascading + signs follow after your cursor. If for some reason it didn’t work click “Clear Edits” Then go back and follow the steps above carefully making sure you find the second symbol; copy the complete code and paste the code above the second symbol.
Go back to the Template page and click “Save Template”
You’ve done it!
