Thrifted Treasures

Cottage Craft

the blog:

Happenstance

Trips to the thrift stores have been infrequent for me lately. The good ones
are in the opposite direction I travel to do my regular shopping. Where
we live, everything is at least one half to one hour away – so combining
errands is generally the order of the day.
Last week, I arranged my shopping trip to include a quick run to my
favorite Goodwill. I was amazed at the bare shelves -either there have
been fewer donations or more treasure hunters.
I did however find these marvelous keepsakes.
I was thrilled to see this teapot, teacups, two creamers and two sugar
bowls (sans lids) the delicate color caught my eye. They may have
come from a tea shop….
I also found this beautiful tureen – I’ll probably use it more for decorating.
Lastly, I found two blank boxes that I had fun with – and had already
included in decor and photographs – I chose to decoupage these
with some lovely paper, lace and flowers. I do love finding things I can
make my own.

Finding treasures is a pure act of happenstance – you and it being there at the
same time – one of those lovely serendipity moments!
