|the sweet little nest I also found at the thrift store|
As Unique As Snowflakes
Recently, my husband and I were out doing errands. While
he was at a meeting I stopped by a little thrift store nearby.
My eyes scanned the room and I began to look at the
glassware. I then moved across the room and in the back
were the linens. On the top shelf was a stack of crochet
doilies. Without looking at them, I picked up the whole
pile. I took the other items I found and the cashier
laughed at me. ‘Doilies’, she said. ‘I’m not going to count
these!’ She looked at the doilies and the other three items
I found and gave me a total = $2.80. ‘That’s fine’. I
quickly said. Heart happy I lightly stepped out of the store.
While my husband was in his meeting, I began to look at
each of the doilies, remember I didn’t even count them.
In our car I held them up and ooohed and aaahhhhed
at each then realized each was in near perfect condition!
As I was looking at them I was counting them – there were
twenty-four in all.
The other items I found were a small white pitcher, a very
diminutive cobalt-blue vintage medicine bottle with the
words, ‘Bromo-Seltzer; Emerson; Drug Co.; Baltimore
MD‘ in raised lettering, and this sweet little bird’s nest
I shared with you earlier.
I have used several of these doilies already in my decor
here and there. I just love crochet doilies and marvel in the
craftsmanship demonstrated in each individual one.
I will be sharing this post with these Delightsome blog parties:
