I took these pictures of my kitchen – as it is today – to get a good look at what I have and what I’d like to change. Recently I shared that I was inspired by Jennifer Zuri’s Farmhouse Cottage Style. So, here are the photos – with what I plan to keep and lists of what I plan to change/add.
paint chalboard on top of door
paint hanging shelf white
re-do trim on countertop
I plan to move ths small shelf (which actually belongs to my youngest daughter) to one of our bathrooms – another renovation down the line. I am looking for a low shelf to replace the shelving that is there. I want something more like a cabinet.
Paint Walls light, creamy-yellow white.
add open shelving
add beadboard and trim to some walls
paint the door white – maybe add a graphic
Our Kitchenaid double oven was a fantastic find at an Estate sale. It had never been used and we got it for $150!
Paint cabinets lighter white, open some cabinets or add glass or beadboard
These are some of my ideas. I am going to bring out more of my white dishes, the pitchers – I have quite a large collection, add color here and there – an area rug near the desk – paint the window frames. That’s quite a story. It took me weeks to remove the layers of paint. Initially I had planned to restain the windows, but I was fascinated with the chips of color here and there showing the various colors the window frame had been over the years. But, now, it is time for it to be a beautiful crisp white. I’ll probably keep the lace curtains, so many decisions! This project will take some time, right now I have to finish my bedroom transformation. It has been a few weeks since my last post French Impressions Part III
So what do you think of my ideas! Any suggestions?
