So excited that it snowed in our little corner of the world. It’s a rare event!

While I am enjoying the beauty of this snow event, I am quite aware that this hit a number of cities in Georgia very hard, especially Atlanta. Many people are stranded and unable to come home. My thoughts and prayers go to them, their families and to those who are out trying to reach them and get them to safety.

I am sharing this post with these Delightsome blog parties:

  1. Glad you are / were able to enjoy it ! :) I wondered, after seeing the horrific news stories earlier…

    • I’ve been listening to the news on the radio. It hit Atlanta harder than they expected. So sorry for all the trouble many are facing – just too many people in those big cities

  2. Burr….it’s pretty though. I had hoped to see a bit of snow before we left AL and came back to FL. Friends have been sending us pictures of the town in white and it seems like Snow Cream is being made in abundance. lol Stay warm and enjoy the beauty and if you fix up that wonderful white snow cream enjoy a bowl for me..

    • It’s just Dearest and me…he’d be very skeptical! I could just see his expression…now if the kids were still here – they’d go for it!

  3. Blessings, Kathy, as you enjoy your snow! Some lovely meme worthy photos there! What are your temperatures? I can’t feel my hands or feet – just can’t get warm in my house. Of course, I don’t have the heat cranked up either. I don’t want to be shocked by an oil bill! So – I’m layered up and drinking my tea. Enjoy your snowy landscapes!
    Joy!
    Kathy

    • Oh, in winter my hands and feet stay cold! Working on that one! The temp is just 30. I ran in and out quickly – wearing two sweaters a shirt and for a while my jacket. I have a blanket over my lap right now. I’m enjoying watching the birds out my kitchen window by the desk. Making bread bowls and deer stew for dinner…hoping Dearest gets off very soon! Look

  4. Oh, Kathy- It is pretty looking at it through YOUR eyes….here? Not so much!…lol Gorgeous shots and I am glad you enjoyed your snow. xo Diana

  5. This is just so amazing. The weather sure has been crazy this year.

  6. Kathy we are to go to 28 tomorrow and it is going to seem balmy after the last few days here! Yesterday morning was -8 degrees …today we went to 19 late afternoon but there is wind today so it seems colder than yesterday! :)

  7. Wow! You did get your snow! It must paralyze a place like Georgia when this happens. I know here in Canada out on the west coast where my middle son lives, Vancouver is almost paralyzed when the snow falls because they don’t have the equipment to deal with it. My son grew up here on the Island so he is used to it. So, did your build your snowman?

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  8. It certainly looks beautiful there with the fresh coating of snow, Kathy. I know it’s not fun and can be dangerous for you when you’re not used to it so take care and enjoy the prettiness of it. Blessings, Pamela

My feet get cold too these days – it’s more my feet (thank goodness not my hands too). This cold and weather conditions is only pretty looking from a window inside a heated home! Still praying too for all the citizens who have been in horrific conditions stuck on the roads. ox

  10. Hello, Kathy! Lovely pictures! Hasn’t the snow been marvelous! It’s so rare we have the “white stuff” here in Georgia. I’m like a young child, transfixed by flakes falling from an iron-colored sky! The news has been rather sad, with so many people having such a time with the snow and bitter temperatures, but bundled up here in my snug Stockbridge home, it’s been great fun. Thanks again for sharing the pictures! I showed “Dearest’s truck” to my son and he is about to bust with envy. :) Old trucks are a Favorite Thing in my family. Stay warm!

    • Yes it has. And I think they’ve spent too much time trying to blame someone! It just doesn’t happen enough here for folks to know exactly how to react. We ALWAYS have congested traffic in the Atlanta area. I told my husband that I wish that the highways weren’t so boxed in where folks could get stuck like that. So glad to hear the good stories – Home Depot opening up so people had shelter; Chic-fil-A giving away food; people opening up their homes to strangers – there were a lot more good stories than the sad ones they concentrate on…I’ll share with Dearest how your son likes his truck…Dearest wants so much to restore it. Finding parts and finding time are the hard part! Thank you and wishing you warmth and blessings too!

  11. Enjoyed the pictures………….especially the barn and the dirt road. :) gentle joy
