The Icy Wintry Weather has caused a lot of garden clean up.
During the weekend, my neighbors gave Dearest a few branches from a broken Redbud tree – they thought I might like them.
They were so right!
Redbuds are actually dark pink when unopened and become lighter when they open. The diminutive flower buds run along the stem in little clusters. When they open they have a sweet fairy-like appearance – almost like a little butterfly or like a tiny slipper.
I keep this bowl and pitcher on this chair in the corner of our kitchen.
It’s a marvelous place to force branches and to display flower arrangements.
I keep several of my white dishes as well as my red chintz and Rose Chintz dishes here.
I did a little rearranging to compliment the spring coloring of the Redbud blossoms.
I replaced the burlap wreath I made around Christmastime with this plate rack.
I placed my two Pansy plates and a couple saucers – with the fresh spring color of green.
On the shelf I brought down the spring colors to compliment the flowers and the plates.
Decorating this corner was one step at a time. I began with the flowers, added the floral dishes, I added pops of green.
Spring is all about the fresh color of green and flowers.
Bringing the fresh colors of spring indoors is one of my greatest delights…I’m looking forward to the beautiful transformation outdoors as the world brightens and warms. But until then, I have little vignettes here and there of spring in all it’s glory in my home.
I am participating with several of our Blogging friends in a Spring Fling LINKY party. Today’s party is ‘Spring Vignettes’ hosted by Worthing Court:
I am sharing this post with these Delightsome blog parties:
