Ringing in Spring Home Tour

I love the theme to this Home Tour… Ringing in Spring

ringing in spring home tour 1

It reminds me of bells being rung for a special event and the arrival of spring is definitely a special event.

To begin my tour, I wanted to fill my Bread Dough bowl with the beautiful greens and purples that are now filling the garden.

I have wanted to make Lavender bud balls for a while.

Then I found these paper mache eggs at Hobby Lobby! These were large enough and would work beautifully for spring!

I used a combination of Tacky Glue and Mod Podge. I painted the egg with the glue quite thickly. Then I rolled and patted the Lavender buds on to give it full coverage. Once dried, I placed them here and there with the faux Lavender and faux mint – both green and purple.

I decided to make Moss Balls

I loved this project! Taking 3” styrofoam balls I cut sheet moss into what resembled an open faced flower; fitting it on the ball as I went. I used the tacky glue to adhere the moss to the ball – stretching and pressing to make sure it was completely covered. I could have made a whole lot more of these – they were quite fun and easy!

To give a punch of purple in the center of the Bread Dough bowl decor –

I set in an African Violet. It brought all the natural greenery and the faux greenery together.

My sweet bunnies found a new home

along with a pitcher full of spring flowers on the chest by the door.

The Bunnies were residing on the Dining Table

one of the first places I decorated for spring.

The Daffodils and Forsythia vignette was the first.

This year the spring bulbs are performing beautifully – I’m looking forward to what will come next!

Then while doing some spring cleaning…

The Mantel

well, that was a change I was reluctant to make, until I realized all I needed to do was to add green to brighten the look that I already loved.

I loved the look of a Preserved Potted Hydrangea

So I took a couple glazed pots and transformed them with Gesso, Plaster of Paris and some touches of greige.

In the kitchen…a Redbud Vignette.

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-REDBUD-SPRING-VIGNETTE-1After the ice storm our neighbor was clearing branches and gave me these beautiful Redbud branches. I love placing flowers in this pitcher.

On the Front Porch…

I was inspired by the beautiful greens of spring. I found this fantastic green burlap ribbon and painted the ‘R’  a Jubilant Green.

On my desk in the kitchen…

I placed these two beautiful blue vases I recently found and filled them with Forsythia branches. I love how the two brilliant colors compliment.

A Spring Lunch…
