Beautiful Morning

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-PINK-LILY-WHITE-TEACUP-LILIES-BACKGROUNDI love the sounds of the morning.

The sounds of the water heating for coffee, Dearest’s footfalls upstairs as he prepares for work, the birds singing, and even the silence. Each morning is such a gift – the familiar things and the surprises.

A Cause to Sing

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-REJOICE-MORNINGThis is my big project this week! I’m transforming the dining room. I shared a while back my plans…it’s now coming to pass. This corner is the first ‘finished‘ with the new ceiling, trim and wall colors. When Dearest walks into the room now, he breaks into song! I’ll share what later! Darling Daughter brought home these sunflowers from her boyfriend’s family’s farm. I think I want to paint them!

‘Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.’ Psalm 89:14

Morning Garden Walk

A-DELIGHTSOMELIFE-LILIES OLD BOTTLESWhen Dearest left for work, I fed our son’s dog Grace as I was opening the barn, the cats came bounding over – they were hungry too! I enjoy watching them come anticipating and when they see each other – the way they greet.

This Fragrant Lily

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-FRAGRANT-LILYdrew my attention. I found it when Dearest and I attended The Southeastern Flower Show a couple years back. I wish I’d bought more than one!

Collecting Lilies

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-WHITE-TEACUP-ORANGE-YELLOW-LILIESMy eldest daughter gave the youngest daughter several old bottles to use, I thought they’d be lovely with each lily  - summer’s song begins with the morning Daylilies.

A Heart Filled With Joy

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-ORANGE-LILY-BLUE-TEACUPI awoke this morning with a heart filled with joy in the knowledge of God’s love…it is so amazing to consider His thoughts toward us, His plans and how truly Delightsome life is!

‘But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,’ Ephesians 2:4

It’s a Beautiful Morning

A-DELIGHTSOME-LIFE-LILIES-OLD BOTTLES-WHITE-TEACUPThere’s a lot ahead in this week! We’ll be celebrating the Fourth of July, finishing paint then other projects to complete the dining room, preparing for upcoming events – I’ll be going to the blogging conference, Haven next week! So excited! But in all this, I wanted to take a moment – to enjoy the beauty of the day, the gorgeous summer lilies, the sounds of the morning, all of the little things that come together to make our lives joyful. I hope you have a blessed week!

  1. “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
    Luke 12:27 (NIV)

  2. The dining room is coming together nicely, I like the colour of blue Kathy. Some pretty flowers from the garden too and I like Beth’s quote – how appropriate.

  3. Those sunflowers look so pretty against the blue of your walls in the dining room, Kathy. I love the sounds of morning too this time of year. The birds are chirping and singing loudly in the trees behind our home and they fly back and forth from the feeder to the trees making merriment with one another. I so enjoy having my windows open so I can hear them just after sunrise. No dogs or cats but that’s OK. Your lilies are all so lovely. Thank you for joining me for tea today and have a wonderful 4th of July!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

    • I just love open doors and windows – the cats we share with a neighbor – we take care of our son’s dog – for now..but, yes, mornings, birds, flowers – all wonderful gifts – have a blessed week,
      Kathy

  4. Happy 4th of July! Your lilies are beautiful in their bottles. Your dining room is looking lovely.
