I love making milk shakes and I just love anything chocolate. So when I saw that today was going to be National Chocolate Milk Shake Day – I had to jump in and make some for my family!
For my Chocolate Milk Shake, I decided to use rich ingredients. I asked my daughter to pick up good chocolate ice cream – she chose dutch chocolate – that’s rich! I also love whole milk and Homestead Creamery makes their whole milk – with the cream still on top – oh, yes! That’s rich!
This is a treat
Because the ingredients are so rich – it is a treat! I love old-fashioned shakes with whipped cream (real) and cherries on top. Is there anything more fun and delicious at the same time!
- approx. 2 cups (4 scoops) Chocolate Ice Cream or Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk (Homestead Creamery)
- 1/8 cup Hershey Chocolate syrup (optional)
- Whipped Cream
- Marachino Cherries
- Measure and pour milk into blender. Top with syrup (if using - makes a very rich chocolate shake with the chocolate ice cream; or use with the vanilla ice cream). Add 4 scoops of the ice cream (should be about 2 cups) to the milk. Put the lid on the blender and blend until well mixed. Pour into glass drinking cups. Top with whipped cream and cherry
