The source of the Joy of our Hearts….

I know many broken vessels. I, in some cases, am one. I think all of us could understand that there have been times and circumstances that have caused our hearts pain, caused us to mourn.There are two words together that mean the world to me, that can turn any situation into one filled with light. But God. When hearts are filled with pain, our focus is on the circumstances or the lost…we must turn to the source of the joy of our hearts.

Turn to God…He understands our Hearts

1(A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David.) I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

3O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

6And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

7LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

8I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.

9What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

10Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Psalm 30

He Does Not Take Us Out But Through Situations

God is the only one who can truly take broken hearts, mend them and make them whole. We can, while we are hear sympathize and even empathize, but we can’t truly take away the hollowness, the pain, the loneliness others or even ourselves may feel. We can’t even take away our own pain. But God…can. I believe we are meant to praise, to sing and to dance with joy in our lives. Death, loss and pain were not a part of God’s original plan, but it is here and we must all face it.

Comfort of Prayer

 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. Psalm 94:19

We do, in our lives, daily have multitudes of thoughts. What we dwell on influences our state of being, our minds, our hearts and our spirits. If we dwell on loss, evil words, disappointments, troubles, our minds and hearts cannot help but be affected in a negative way. But God...if we dwell on Him, dwell on that He is love; dwell that He thinks on us; dwell on knowing and trusting Him…He can lift our bowed shoulders, dry the tear behind our eyes, He can give joy to our hearts he can return our dance…

No One Wants Bad Things to Happen to Them

But they will. And that’s not the end of it.

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:8-9

We didn’t have the privilege to walk with Jesus on this earth. No man has seen God the Father, and through Jesus and Salvation we have the gift of the Holy Spirit living within us. Though we haven’t seen God, we believe and we love. Through the Spirit gifted to us within we can have a connection, have a joy and peace that is unfathomable in all situations in our life.

We are meant to have joy, we are meant to sing and we are meant to dance. And we can, through it all, because of God

Psalm 16

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

In His presence, even in sorrow, there is joy.
