When you think of farmhouse kitchen style or even French Farmhouse kitchen style, what comes to mind? For me it is a blending of elements – wicker, wood, glass, metals etc… French Farmhouse Style includes all the homey elements of painted cabinets, furniture, collectibles, dried lavender, chickens and roosters. The kitchen is the place where you feel welcomed; the place where warm and cozy fragrances draw you in and draw you together. I have brought these design elements together in my kitchen renovation. When you think of farmhouse style or even French Farmhouse style, what comes to mind? The Reveal

On July 31 I shared with you my plans to renovate our kitchen – to create French Farmhouse  Style kitchen. I shared with you my inspiration ~ Jennifer Zuri’s Farmhouse Cottage Style – lovely, lovely home. Now, I can finally share with you the complete transformation.

The Before:

So, I made my list.

I work better with lists to completely finish a job. If I don’t my imagination wanders to other ideas and projects – this girl must stick to her lists!

I think when you’re transforming a room, it is important to add every element that appeals to your heart.

For me that includes, comfort, coziness, romance, whimsy, fun, surprise and delight.

From Laundry door straight

To me, the comfort and the coziness began with the wall color choice and with the white painted nearly everywhere. If you’re interested in the wall paint color – I’ll share my copycat secret – I collected quite a number of paint chips. Narrowed the choice down to three and showed them to my friend – she chose the paint chip, Rice Grain from Sherwinn Williams. I was inspired by our dear blogging friend, Karianne at Thistlewood Farms in her paint colors – she gets all the credit for this!

The romance to me comes in fresh flowers

Yellow PlatesWhimsy comes in sweet little details, like the birds and the chickens everywhere.

love the chalkboard - there's chalk stored in the yellow salt container on the side of the door

The fun comes by way of chalkboards in the room.

lined inside of cabinetsThe surprise comes in when you open the cabinet doors, they’re lined with Cath Kidston Antique Rose wallpaper and with Gingham shelf liner. I’ve lined the pull out drawers with the Gingham liner and the open shelves with clear basketweave shelf liner.

from cabinet straightThe delight comes in these curtains that I found at an Estate sale. I had been using them as tablecloths – love their Battenburg lace, that they’re the perfect length and that they do not hinder the light nor the beauty of the windows.

My dream French Farmhouse Kitchen is now complete. Well, is anything truly complete? The elements are there – the wood, the wicker, the glass, the painted cabinets. I have a few more ideas for changes in the future, today, I’m enjoying the comfort and welcoming atmosphere of my Well, there it is. I still need to build a storage/shelf unit for this corner, Darling Daughter wants the shelf shown above. I appreciate you all for your input and for sharing with me on this project.
