Pretty Rainbows Serene SundayChasing Pretty Rainbows

Do you have dreams? Well, of course you do! The dreams I mean are of what you’d like to do, what you’d like to be and what you’d like to accomplish. Those are the dreams that sometimes seem to have feet and run away from you or are like a distorted image where it just gets farther and farther away.

Do You Feel Like You’re Spinning ‘Round and Round?

Do you feel like sometimes the harder you try, the harder it gets? Do you feel like you’re on a treadmill or merry-go-round trying to catch that golden ring….and it just gets farther and farther away?

This Happens to Us All

Although it may seem that the world just lays itself out for some and all they have to do is smile, put out their hand and they can have and accomplish all they want! That’s the Pretty Rainbow side of life. We see the reward but we don’t see the hard work, the planning and the determination to win those pretty rainbows. Believe it or not, every one at some point and time feels like they’re spinning round and round or treading on a treadmill and just can’t seem to get there!

What Makes The Difference?

  • Getting up every day and trying again and again.
  • Fixing your mistakes – learn from them
  • Trying new things.
  • Look at things realistically
  • Reaching out to Others for Help
  • Networking with Others
  • Reminding Yourself of Your Goals

What makes the difference is persistence, a real, REAL belief in yourself and getting up when the world knocks you down! LOVE Rocky Balboa’s speech to his son in Rocky Balboa!

“ Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.. It’s how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.

Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not point fingers and blame other people. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”

What do You Do?

If you’re brain-tired and do feel physically worn out or emotionally worn out:

  • take a break
  • refresh yourself
  • Do something just for the fun of it!
  • Pay attention to those you love around you
  • Laugh – a lot
  • Look around at the beauty in your world

If it really troubles you – lay it at the feet of Jesus. Pour out your heart to Him and read His word. There’s no one that loves you more; there’s no one that knows you more and still loves you!

It’s a good thing to strive to achieve things. We often hear don’t compare yourself with others; don’t assume it just came to them so easily. They’ve had those bone-tired, discouraging moments too. They just re-invented themselves, tried a new thing and kept going!

One last thing. Don’t try to be someone else. I don’t think there’s anything else that can be more tiring! Remember, you’re created to be just the way you are with just the talents you have. You’re special and particular in God’s eyes. Step back, remember what YOU LOVE to do, what interests you…and strive to be the best you you can be! When you’re rested – go on, chase some more rainbows…you’ll reach your goals!
