Refreshing Living Room Spring Decor…
There’s just something beautifully special about the light and the air in Spring! Today is such a beautiful day! I am divided about where to be! Outdoors or in! BUT, I really wanted to update the living room and other rooms in our home for spring, then I’ll go play in the garden! I am refreshing the living room for spring!
Lighter, lighter lighter! Every surface got a redo! I wanted the over all look to be light and refreshing…there’s a continuity going on with one element being used in a few places.
Light, Dried Florals
On the tray on the ottoman, I have a sweet wire container with three little bottles. My daughters and I found these at The Country Living Fair, but I’ve also seen them on various other sites like Decor Steals. They make the perfect, casual, country style floral arrangement. They look sweet with these dried flowers.
On the fireplace mantel I have two larger sized versions of the wire-bottle floral arrangement. I love when I step back and my eye is drawn from one surface to another…
On the top shelf of the built-in bookcases, I have more dried florals. These flowers came from my daughter’s wedding last June! They retain their light coloring and are so versatile in decorating.
The Fireplace
The fireplace is the room’s focal point. Here I decorated one of my large French baskets I found at Sunday Brocantes. I just love this and the smaller baskets in the living room. The other baskets contain bunches of dried Lavender.
I decided to keep the double-ring wreath with white Magnolias. This wreath adds texture and goes along with the lighter spring decor in the room.
Too soon for bunnies and eggs?! I don’t think so! Easter decor and spring decor so easily go hand in hand, I think!
In this corner, I’ve combined some greenery with a painted birdhouse I painted years ago.
Dearest made this collage of pictures for me! This is our version of ‘This is Us’. LOVE it!
On the ottoman tray I decided to group together faux mercury glass and silver items with the floral decor. This adds light and brightness to this vignette.
I really love this lighter look! I’m going to enjoy the sweet cheerfulness of this room during this spring season! Now, onto another room!
