This all started when Dearest commented that our home’s living area – dining room-living room needed better flow. I thought, what show have you been watching Dearest. So, this made me take a second look…which resulted in some pieces of furniture being removed…one such piece was this desk. I loved the lines. We found it at an estate sale. I transformed it…then I realized. It would be perfect for a new home office – for me! It would need transformation once again.
This is the room I’ve called my retreat. It doubles as a guest room, but it is one that is filled with all things that appeal to my Shabby Chic-Romantic heart. This is a perfect setting for my new office.
I removed the shelving unit that sat behind the couch. this opened the floor space even more.
I switched the bed and the dresser. I also removed the round side table that had been by the bed.
I have this full-sized headboard (behind the bed) that will be used one day – this is still used as a guest room, but soon we will be able to accommodate more!
Love how this French Provencal dresser turned out….I shared its transformation a while back.
I transformed this desk to coordinate with the painted dresser – not exactly the same, but similar.
I almost had this cabinet removed – it had been part of a wet bar – the room had been a side porch made into a room…that’s why there’s shingles on the walls. (check out the before from 2010!)
A few sweet items to decorate the desk…setting a romantic mood. Remember these Faux Potted Hydrangeas...?
I love this Waterhouse painting…it’s my muse.
Every girl needs that setting that speaks to her heart and spirit…this serene setting is the perfect place for me to dream, create and plan. There’s a few more tasks to do – move files, more books…etc…I’m thoroughly enjoying my space and look forward to spending more time in my new Shabby Chic Home Office.

No Substitute for Time Spent With God in His Word and Through Prayer “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” II Timothy 3:16-17 I’m not sure whether […]
Our Christmas Party We have been hosting a Christmas party at our home for over 10 years. It’s a wonderful collaboration. They select Christmas songs, games – we […]
