Home and Garden Thursday
Hello Dear Friends, last week’s party was so amazing, you all have shared wonderful, creative posts! I am thrilled time is moving along and signs of spring and more daylight hours are here. I’ve noticed the changes while driving home after work. A few weeks ago, the sun was a deep reddish-orange low on the horizon to my left. Then, the sun was still slightly low, but directly in front of me – you know what it is like to drive into that bright light! Now, it is higher – still in my path – but giving us more daylight hours in the evening. This morning I am listening to the chorus of the birds – seeing the silhouette of the trees as the sun rises brightening the sky – this moment to me is precious. Anticipating the changes in time and season is marvelous – cherishing those wonderful moments gifted to us each day is a blessing.
My ‘aha’ moment last week was when I moved a large Anchor Hocking storage jar to take a picture of this corner of our kitchen – it’s just not cute with its clear glass filled with granola bars, crackers and cookies. Then it hit me, ‘make it milk glass!’ I didn’t stop there – I created a label using two graphics from our dear friend The Graphics Fairy.
I love finding wild Violets in our lawn, their sweet faces seem to smile up from their diminutive plant. I paired my Martha Stewart violet strewn teacups with a bottle I found buried at the bottom of our backyard – I filled the jar with Oxalis – in honor of St. Patrick’s day – a few quotes from Dr. Seuss in honor of his birthday this month – my whimsical tea was complete.
I created these sweet little nests with paper pots, cupcake skirts and painted, blown-out eggs and placed them in the Wardian case on my desk in our kitchen. A Sweet little vignette for Easter.
Last week, Leslie’s (The Cozy Little Kitchen) Sunrise Marmalade and Marscapone Stuffed French Toast caught my imagination. I did not have the same ingredients so I created a similar version as Apricot-Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast, which Dearest liked so much that he asked for it again the next morning.
Thank you all for your wonderful participation – here are the HIGHLIGHTS from last week’s party:
Deb, at Lake Girl Paints creatively used the back of a large frame and created this gorgeous Spring-Green Chalkboard to use as a centerpiece to her dining table – love chalkboard – LOVE this refreshing, green color!
There’s so much beauty and information shared in blogland – I was transfixed by this gorgeous mosiac at My Maine Blog – love all the techniques used – I am sure many of you would love to know what she uses to create these beautiful pictures!
