Welcome to the 281st
Hello all! I hope you had a marvelous weekend! We did. Labor Day weekend is my husband’s family’s annual family reunion. It was the most perfect weekend for this gathering! We also celebrated my son’s 31st birthday – Labor Day baby! I always enjoy when we can get together. I know many are still affected by Hurricane Harvey AND we have Hurricane Irma looming and beginning to affect our friends in Florida. I think we’ll get something from this one. So, all – do prepare and do be safe! I may share more information in the future, but I had an incident this week where someone emailed stating they saw one of my projects on someone’s Facebook page. This person was claiming to have created this project and was offering to sell to any one who wished to buy. I notified this person that they didn’t have my permission to use my image to profit. This person was not very nice, but did remove the photo. I’ve had this happen more than I’d care to count. When YOU create a photo and share it is copyrighted to you as the owner of the image. Copying and using images on the Internet is not correct. It is not ‘public domain’. I’ve learned there are ways to embed copyright into the meta-data of the photo. I am going to try to learn the how. It’s like the saying – you never know who knows who. I’m thankful for the person who recognized my work and took the time to contact me. For the most part, the blogging community and online community is wonderful and respectful. O.K., now – thank you all for joining in at Home and Garden Thursday – you make this awesome. AND with that previous thought – sharing on Home and Garden Thursday gives me permission to share – with credit your image – If you don’t wish your image to be shared – please let me know. You’re quite free and welcome to join in the party – but won’t be featured.
Here’s what I shared with you since our last party:

There is so much to comment on today. First of all, I’m upset for you that someone shared your photos and claimed them as their own. This is happening to so many of us. If you do figure out how to imbed something in your photos to prevent it I do hope you’ll share. Second, thank you so much for the Ebook. We are in the process of planning a downsize into our “retirement home.” I have that in quotes because hubby will still need to work for quite awhile after we move in. I’m trying to figure out what style I’ll use to decorate. I’ll be losing my more formal living room furniture so I think it will be a mix of hubbies comfortable man furniture (rustic) and pretties like my crystal chandy (glam). Cottage style seems to fit in there somewhere. And last, you have been very busy with project this past week and I love everything you shared. Those blue and white pumpkins are amazing. Speaking of amazing, are you able to go to the So Close to Amazing party this weekend? Would love to meet you face-to-face. <3
Blessings friend,
Patti
I was too, at first. This happens so much I understand. A site I read by an attorney that specializes in copyright – when she talked to a group about their images being used – most raised their hand. I’m just thankful someone out of the blue recognized my work and let me know. I try not to dwell on it and to focus on creating beauty and focus on ME doing the right thing at all times! Hugs, Kathy
Thanks so much, Patti, I will definitely let every one know when I learn how to embed copyright! Hopefully it will be easy 😉
Thanks for featuring my avocado chickpea salad
I’m looking forward to trying it! Thank you for sharing at Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy
