You are Loved.

Are there times in your life when you can joyfully feel the love of God towards you? Recently, I had such a time and I felt wonderful by it. I was on my way to an important meeting and was delayed on a country road by a very slow driver. Not long after the driver got in front of me, a deer crossed the road. I have never hit one and I’ve voiced several times that I don’t want to. Then all of the lights I came across were green – no one else in my lane. The opposing lanes were full of cars waiting. I smiled. I had a strong sense of the way being made clear by God for me.

I know these are small things – but in a way very big. Some might doubt whether small events in our lives reveal God’s love toward us – I don’t. Why else would we have such a verse as this:

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not ]arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:26-34

God Completely Cares for His Creation

I am enthralled by the beauty of the world around me. Each season I love seeing the amazing changes. I love to see the sunlight on the backs of the horses in the fields. I love to see the trees and shrubs loaded with blooms. I love to see the clear blue sky and I love to see the full moon. There’s so much to enjoy in this world that God has created. His love is evident everywhere. The greatest place his love is evident is for us.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13

Knowing that Jesus willingly gave his life so that we might have a relationship with himself and with God the Father brings such overflowing joy to my heart.

God Cares About All Things in Our Lives

There’s not a part of our life that God doesn’t care about.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the [cstill waters. He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will [ddwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:1-4, 6

I think it makes all the difference in our daily lives to remember and to realize the depths of the love of God toward us. We can get so caught up in our daily chores and responsibilities that they become so huge in our lives. We need to have the right perspective about everything. Yes, we do have a lot to do and we do have responsibilities. But, while we’re doing these things, what I like to call our ‘dailies’ let’s not forget the most important thread running throughout all our lives – God loves us. More specifically, God loves you.

So all those things that seem important – the good and the bad – are just things. The thread throughout the course of our lives and our days is that God loves us and is very present in our lives.

so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Acts 17:27-28

I hope as you go through your days that you’ll realize throughout the wonderful knowledge of just how special you are to God. I hope that you realize just how much you’re loved. This knowledge can buoy our hearts and help us keep the main thing the main thing. Yes, we have lots to do and yes we do have difficult times. But, through it all – we are deeply loved and I believe that should bring light and joy to our hearts and lives.
