Handle with Love

How should we deal with people and with situations in life. From what I’ve learned of the grace, mercy and love of God…we should handle them with love.

Demonstrating Grace

God’s grace has been defined as unmerited favor. That is kindness has been extended to another without their deserving it. God extended His grace to all mankind – by the gift of His Son. We can emulate this grace to all we meet for all situations. We can extend undeserved favor to others to emulate God. We do this because of an understanding of what’s the most important thing – eternity – ours and theirs. If someone does you wrong it’s natural to strike back or to stand up for ourselves, but in light of eternity and Jesus as an example – when we extend grace we’re giving that person a glimpse of God.

Extending Mercy

God’s mercy can be defined as compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power. This is giving that person an opportunity to understand the forgiveness of God. I understand this. Several years back my brother’s best friend murdered him. I had never met him until I stood before the judge beside him speaking on behalf of brother, myself and of my siblings. Later I realized that we all will stand before God in judgment for our lives. There will be those who will stand in judgment for rejecting the free gift of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. I needed to forgive this man so that he could understand the tremendous gift still available to him.

Handle with Love

Jesus demonstrated it best of all. In every situation or whoever was brought before him, he handled with Love. God demonstrated his amazing love for all mankind in providing us a way to be with Him for eternity. The only one who could pay for the sins of the world – Jesus His Son. Jesus knowing all this willingly followed through demonstrating His incredible love for us. So, in our life we are given an opportunity to emulate this love, grace and mercy for others. We can demonstrate to all we encounter the amazing gift of salvation offered freely. It’s simple – all one has to do is to accept that Jesus is God’s son, acknowledge their need…for an eternal relationship with God. That’s the most important thing in this world.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:21-32
