February is the month of Romance

What better time to spruce up our homes with thoughts of love and romance than in the depths of winter! It is this time our hearts, soul, mind and body need a lift! I know this may sound odd to you who have been braving chilling temperatures and several inches of snow, but our up and down winter in the south is just not right! It looks like the beginning of spring out doors – much, much too soon!

My focus for the month of February will be romance – in decor, in the garden, in the kitchen and in my heart and mind.

Tea with Jane Austen

This week is the 200th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s story, “Pride and Prejudice”. I shared my thoughts on this our Kindred Spirit.

At Friendship, Life and Style three longtime friends, Ann, Heather, and Sheila share their adventures through blogging. Heather shared with us her beautiful after-Christmas transformation – the topiaries, the lanterns and a gorgeous bust on another tabletop – this wonderfully brings the beauty of the outdoors in during wintertime.

I think we all loved the transformed look to Marty’s family room at A Stroll Thru Life - the gorgeous swan is just perfect.

Athena at Minerva’s Garden transformed a plain lampshade into something beautiful and romantic – her tutorial shows you how she did it.

The FrenchHutch

Emily at the French Hutch took us along with her on her after – Christmas shopping in Atlanta. The window displays were simply gorgeous – definitely a marshmallow world!
