Review & Giveaway!
Do you like to iron? It’s not one of my favorite tasks. But it is one of those tools and tasks that I love – because of the results.
I use the iron for a lot of decor and craft projects.
I am preparing a Spring Tablescape and one of the most important things is to have a well-ironed tablecloth. It sets the whole stage.
For this review, I tested the Iron on a very large tablecloth, creating Bunny napkins and one of Dearest’s shirts.
I have to share that I wasn’t the first to try this iron out. I am a blessed woman in so many ways – Dearest is a wonderful man in so many ways. One of those ‘ways’ is that he does his own ironing. Yes! He does! So when he saw the iron after it arrived at our home, the very next day he was trying it out. The next thing I knew, he was taking out several of his dress shirts and ironing his clothing for the upcoming work-week.
What did Dearest like about the Durathon Iron.
The Durathon plate.
He uses a lot of starch on his shirts. Not only did the plate glide nicely, but it also cleaned very well! The instructions came along with the iron.
The narrow top.
This part of the iron, Dearest really liked. Getting the point of the iron between buttons on his shirt and getting a clean result is important to him – he loved the ease the more narrow top afforded him this task.
The retractable cord.
Over time winding a cord can cause it to curl and to twist. This iron’s cord retracts easily into the very wide base making storage a breeze!
The push-button setting and setting lights.
I liked this function too! As you press the button for the settings – each setting had a different color and was ‘ready’ when the light stopped blinking. Very handy – especially if I’m ironing without my glasses – don’t you just LOVE small print! Remember I’m a ‘une femme d’un certain âge’. I need my glasses to see print!
If the iron gets knocked over, it will shut off at 30 seconds. The iron, if left still while standing, will shut off after 15 minutes. Safety is a definite concern while ironing.
Strong Steam Function
We have a steamer and know the power of steam – this iron gives you a strong burst of steem at it’s highest setting – allowing you to tackle those difficult folds or wrinkles.
This iron did a marvelous job on my tablecloth.
It did a wonderful job helping me create these sweet Bunny napkins. I followed this tutorial.
I also tested the iron on one of Dearest’s shirts –
for you. After all – the greatest critic tested it and gave it his ‘Dearest Approved‘ and I approve as well.
I’ll share with you my tablescape quite soon!
