Recovering the Seat Cushion

This vintage chair needed its cushion repaired and updated...I selected this lovely soft, blue material...it made the look of the chair awesome! This transformation in my living room redecorating project was the easiest and I think one of my favorites! I just love the fabric! To coordinate with the new color scheme  – updating this chair was very important.

The Chair

chair before transformationThis chair we’ve had for a very long time – several years back, we had some water damage and this was one of the pieces of furniture that was restored. The green faux leather worked very well with the former English Cottage decor.

Interesting Find

Not Painting the Chair

recovered chair after with new fabricLately, most of my transformations have included painting the furniture. This time, I decided to keep the cherry stain on this chair – I thought the combination with the fabric was striking.

The Fabric

Pillow Accent

The Ottoman

recovered chair with new fabric by recovered ottomanI found this ottoman at a Habitat Restore a while back. I had been looking for a square ottoman – perhaps a coffee table I could make into an ottoman. But, when I found this one – it was perfect – once again for the English Cottage look…for this decor style – the fabric and wood needed to be lightened. I’ll share more about this transformation soon!

Love the New Look!

On to the next project! This living room redecorating project is taking its time – lots of sewing and painting, but I do love the new look! I’ll share more soon!
