Recovering the Seat Cushion
This transformation in my living room redecorating project was the easiest and I think one of my favorites! I just love the fabric! To coordinate with the new color scheme – updating this chair was very important.
This chair we’ve had for a very long time – several years back, we had some water damage and this was one of the pieces of furniture that was restored. The green faux leather worked very well with the former English Cottage decor.
The seat was sagging and needed some repair. What I found when I removed the seat cushion surprised me – the original straw was still there! I repaired the webbing and kept the original padding. I also kept the faux leather to give the seat extra support.
Not Painting the Chair
Earlier this year I visited a fabric warehouse during their bi-annual $1.99/yd sale. I had in mind the living room project and purchased several fabrics to compliment the new color scheme. I just love the texture, colors and pattern to this fabric.
I found this ottoman at a Habitat Restore a while back. I had been looking for a square ottoman – perhaps a coffee table I could make into an ottoman. But, when I found this one – it was perfect – once again for the English Cottage look…for this decor style – the fabric and wood needed to be lightened. I’ll share more about this transformation soon!
Love the New Look!
On to the next project! This living room redecorating project is taking its time – lots of sewing and painting, but I do love the new look! I’ll share more soon!
