Where is Your Treasure?

In this season, we are so busy decorating, baking, shopping and more! Our days and hours are filled with activities…we seek the best gift for those we love…

Have we thought to share what’s the most important thing? Where is your treasure?

The greatest gift ever given to all mankind oftentimes goes unopened. God gave us the most important gift ever! Jesus Christ our Savior offered to us the most important gift…out of the purest love. Who else would pay for all your debt, all my debt…all debt by every one ever lived.

Yet…

This is a freewill gift – ready and waiting for everyone if they accept…but many choose to not to.

Many also accept, yet go about on their way in their lives – without sharing with others.

This gift changes everything. We become children of God and we are adopted into His family through this loving gift. There are so many different beliefs today, but the truth is simple and easily found.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

“Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;” Ephesians 2:8

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”  II Corinthians 9:15

“But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)” Romans 5:15-17

We carefully select gifts this Christmas season for those we love...imagine what it would be like if they never accepted or opened these gifts. Much more the sadness is all who have heard about God’s love and free gift, yet choose to not to open or to accept…believing that either they had more time, didn’t believe at all or thought themselves unworthy.

If God so loved the world…this love is so much more, so much more amazing than we can comprehend. This love opens doors in our lives and in our hearts. This love continues to give in so many ways…and allows us to participate by sharing with others.

This Christmas as you give and receive gifts; as you open gifts…I wonder...have you received and opened the free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. If you do, your life will be forever changed; you’ll become a child of God and you’ll experience such a peace and joy no one can take away.
